When Thomas Rhett married his wife, Lauren, they were both 22 years old and a lot of people thought they were too young to get married and should wait a while.  But Thomas has always known that Lauren was the one, and not only is she his best friend, but he says, “She’s always been my biggest fan even, I remember going back to high school, just sitting there playing Brad Paisley songs on my acoustic guitar and her being like, ‘Man, you kind of have an okay voice.  Maybe you should do something with that.’”

Now Thomas and Lauren have been married for almost five and a half years and he says, “It’s crazy how far we’ve come, not only as a married couple but as friends. Like our friendship has grown, and she is such a part of my career. My fans love her more than they love me, which is hilarious.  So it’s just been a great ride with her and hopefully it can continue in this way.”

Interestingly, Thomas’ latest single, “Marry Me,” about a guy who misses out on marrying the love of his life, was inspired by the way things could have turned out between Thomas and Lauren had he not stepped up and told her how he felt about her before she married somebody else.
