Sugarland decided to take a break from the duo back in 2012, and spent the next five years working on their own solo projects and living life.  When asked what they might have learned during their time apart, Jennifer Nettles joked, “I learned how to be a mother, which is kind of like a small cool thing. You know just a hobby … but it’s super fun!”

Kristian joked that the whole parenting this is just something that Jennifer likes to do on the weekends.  Of course, they were both kidding.  The crazy thing is, until their reunion, when they wrote and released their new single, “Still the Same,” Kristian had never known Jennifer as a mother, because she was still pregnant when they went on hiatus from Sugarland.

Now, Jennifer’s son Magnus is five years old and he is the center of her universe.
