Carly Pearce was 35,000 feet in the air aboard a Southwest flight when she got the news that she was nominated for her very first ACM Award for New Female Vocalist.  Carly screamed when the flight attendant announced the news to the entire flight over the intercom because she says, “Oh my gosh, you dream and you hope and you pray and you sit on your couch your whole life and you wonder, ‘Am I ever gonna get there? Am I ever going to be nominated? What is that gonna feel like?’ I’ve seen so many of my peers and so many of their reactions to their first nomination, and I got to have mine today and that is the most beautiful … I will never forget it.”

Carly, who is currently climbing the charts with her latest single, “Hide the Wine,” has dreamt of being a successful country music singer her whole life.  She says, “I love country music more than anything in the whole world, and to be nominated for New Female Vocalist of the Year in one year is something I will never take for granted. Thank you ACM’s, thank you country fans, thank you, country radio. I love you and I will love you till the end.”
