Thomas Rhett writes a lot of his own songs, and he’s known for getting inspiration from his own life for a lot of those songs. Now that he’s the father to two-year old Willa Gray, whom he and Lauren adopted from Uganda last May, and Ada James, who was born in August of last year, Thomas anticipates that they will definitely be muses for some of his songs. He says, “I’ve written a couple of songs that just talk about the severe shock of knowing that you’re adopting a child and then you find out that you’re pregnant,” one of those being the title track off his latest album, Life Changes.
While we doubt Thomas will release an album of nothing but songs about his daughters, he jokes, “I definitely can see myself, you know, in the near future just pretty much only writing about my children. It’ll be fun to see, see how they act and see what kind of inspiration I can get from them.”
Thomas has already begun writing songs for his next album, so it will definitely be interesting to see how many songs inspired by his daughters end up on the project.
