Tyler Rich is originally from California, which may not be the first place people think of when they think of country music. Tyler says, “People think of California and the first thing they think of is palm trees and celebrities and beaches, which, I mean, they are there of course.”
But Tyler points out that California is about as long as the distance from Philadelphia down to Florida, and the palm trees and celebrities are just a small part of the state. He was raised in a farming and agriculture community just outside of Sacramento and Tyler says, “My uncles, everybody was farming and harvesting and everything. And I didn’t start listening to country when I was a kid because I wanted to. I listened to it because it’s what my family and everybody listened to. I grew up on the 90s, you know, Clint Black and Vince Gill, Brooks and Dunn, Garth – all that stuff. And that’s really where I found my root in country.”
Tyler’s debut single, “The Difference,” is available now and will be featured on his forthcoming debut album.
Tyler Rich – country living :33
“People think of California and the first thing they think of is palm trees and celebrities and beaches, which, I mean, they are there of course. But I mean from where I was raised in Northern California down to L.A, I mean, we’re talking, you know, Philly down to Florida. That’s a huge gap and all of California’s basically just farming and agriculture. I grew up in a little town outside of Sacramento and that’s all I grew up around. I mean my uncles, everybody was farming and harvesting and everything. And I didn’t start listening to country when I was a kid because I wanted to. I listened to it because it’s what my family and everybody listened to. I grew up on the 90s, you know, Clint Black and Vince Gill, Brooks and Dunn, Garth – all that stuff.
