Pop music has been opening its arms more and more to country music artists, with collaborations like Justin Timberlake & Chris Stapleton and Maren Morris & Zedd, and country has welcomed pop stars like Bebe Rexha, as evidenced by the monster success of Florida Georgia Line’s latest single, “Meant to Be,” with her. Tyler Hubbard says, “I wonder if Bebe thought she was going to be a country artist a couple of years ago. I don’t think that was in the plans. But you know I think that’s the cool thing about country and I think that’s something we should all be proud of man, the fact that we’re open arms and open ears and everybody’s kind of no judgment and it makes me really proud to be in the format.”
Florida Georgia Line is working on their fourth album, and they’ve said it is possible we will see more collaborations with non-country artists on their new project.
