Eli Young Band’s Mike Eli will celebrate his daughter Kline’s 6th birthday on July 30th, and when it comes to fatherhood, Mike says, “I think I was born to be a dad. If you ranked, like my talents, I’m good at napping, I’m good at eating, I’m good at being a dad, and then somewhere down below there, there’s like I’m good at being in the Eli Young Band.”
While Mike thinks being a dad is the best thing he’s done with his life, he says, I hope that my kiddo thinks that I’m a good dad. It’s really hard to live the life that we have to live and travel as much as we do and then try to make sure that we’re always there for the important life moments that happen every day at home. It’s a real struggle and that’s the hardest thing. I love playing music but it’s a real struggle fighting the two and figuring out which one gets the priority. But being a dad wins every time.”
The Eli Young band is staying pretty busy these days with the release of their new single, “Love Ain’t,” and with festival season getting underway, which will keep the band on the road for much of the summer.

I love being a dad. I think I was always born to do this for the most part. I hope that my kiddo thinks that I’m a good dad.
