The CMA Music Festival took place earlier this month in Nashville, and for Carly Pearce, it was a great reality checkpoint to get a real sense of how much her career has grown in the last year. This year Carly had two performances – one on the Riverfront Stage, which is the largest daytime stage, and on the main nightly stage at Nissan Stadium. When Carly thinks about the difference a year made, she says, “It’s hard to put it into words. I was very excited to play in the pavilion at the Chevy stage last year. It was the biggest stage that I had played and ‘Every Little Thing’ had just come out and it was my first CMA Fest that I really felt like fans were stopping me on the street and it wasn’t just my friends. And to see in 12 months how far I’ve come, I think it’s hard sometimes when you’re in this whirlwind storm of the build and you’re working and you have no sense of actually what’s going on.”
As fast as Carly’s career is moving these days, it’s sometimes tough for her to slow down long enough to process what has happened, so she says, “This is like a good checkpoint with myself to go, look at what you did in 12 months and look at what the country community is giving to you. Look at what the fans have done.”
Carly’s latest single, “Hide the Wine,” just moved into the top 30 and continues to climb, while she is out on the road opening for Rascal Flatts on their Back to Us Tour.
