(AUDIO) TYLER RICH LEARNED WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A GREAT SONGWRITER

When Tyler Rich first moved to Nashville, he considered himself a pretty good songwriter.  He admits, “I can’t tell you how many times I thought I had written the hit three years ago and I was like, ‘Man I don’t want to write three or four more songs this week. I think the song I wrote a week ago might be one of my favorite songs ever.’”

Tyler quickly learned that writing the best songs only happens when you write a lot, and write with other great writers.  Getting into a room with some of Nashville’s best writers Tyler says, “It’s eye opening, humbling, and just the best experience ever. I was fortunate enough when I first moved to town, I’d been working with a lot of writers in L.A., but when I first got to town here in Nashville, I got to write with some big dogs like right away.  And God, you just soak so much up and learn so much and you’re terrified to even say a word in the room.”

Tyler didn’t write his current single, “The Difference,” but he did co-write “11:11,” which he just released as an advance track off his forthcoming EP, and he’s continuing to write as often as he can with other great writers because he says, “You just keep getting better and better and better.  This town helps you do that.”
