After events like the tragic mass shooting at the Route 91 Festival in Las Vegas, it’s understandable that artists might have fears or concerns for their safety, but Midland is determined not to let fear stand in the way of getting out and performing for their fans. Cameron Duddy says, “I like that…flying in the face of fear really because that’s all it is. I want people to come out and buy a ticket to go see a live act. We’ve got to keep people entertained and that’s why we do this. We go out, play music for you guys seven nights a week, so that we can forget about our 9 to 5 jobs. And once you introduce fear into that equation, things go sideways.”
Of course Midland is concerned about their safety and the safety of their fans, and the possibility that someone could try to do something bad in the future, but speaking for the group, Cameron says, “I do believe that country music is stronger and bigger than that and we need to persevere and continue that conversation about spreading happiness and positivity. And that’s the point of all of this, is to spread joy.”
Midland is currently spreading joy on the Life Changes Tour with Thomas Rhett and Brett Young, singing their songs like “Drinkin’ Problem,” “Make A Little” and their current single, “Burn Out.”
