Brett Young’s career has pretty much been on success overdrive in the last year and a half, with four #1, Platinum or multi-Platinum singles off his Platinum debut album, successful tours and award nominations and wins, but even with all of that, Brett has managed to stay humble and grateful for all his blessings. He says, “I don’t know if it’s just that this happened a little bit later in life for me, but I think I approach this a little differently. I think my goals are probably different. To be able to do something that you love and have that pay the bills, that’s the dream. And that was the dream with baseball and that didn’t work out and that’s the dream with music. And so for me, this isn’t anything other than something that I’m grateful for.”
Brett lived in Los Angeles for ten years, and he witnessed plenty of people experience success in their entertainment careers and let it all go to their heads. But he says, “I never really understood people being full of themselves because they’ve been given an incredible opportunity. It’s not lost on me that you walk up and down Broadway and there are people that are more talented than me that haven’t been given a shot yet. So I’m grateful to be here and I’m going to soak up every second of it.”
Brett will release his sophomore album, Ticket to L.A. on December 7th, and it’s already off to a good start with the first single off the album, “Here Tonight,” climbing quickly up the charts.
