Thomas Rhett’s latest single, “Sixteen,” is all about reflecting back to when he was a kid and couldn’t wait to grow up and reach all of the age milestones, like turning 16 and 18 and 21. The song is one of Thomas’ favorites that he wrote for his Life Changes album because he says, “I love all things nostalgic. Like, if there’s a show on Netflix that’s about high school, I don’t care how cheesy or bad the acting is, I just love it because it just takes me back to a place in time where I had such a blast. I loved high school. I loved college. I loved just being a kid.”
Just like in the final lines of “Sixteen,” Thomas is content to be where he’s at in his life now and the age that he’s at. He says, “Not that I don’t love being an adult, but I do love, like, just glancing back on those times and thinking about the girls I dated or the movies that were popular or whatever.”
