Midland’s debut album has plenty of drinkin’ songs and heartbreak songs and songs about love, but they believe their music, including their latest single, “Burn Out,” can fit any mood or vibe. “The beauty about all of music and all of art really is that it is open to the interpretation of the observer and the listener,” says Mark Wystrach. “So, as Cameron was saying in an interview recently, which I really thought was beautiful, he says that, you know, we write music for Friday night when you’re getting ready to go out or when you’re having a great time sitting around a bonfire and singing with your best friends. And it’s also for Monday morning when you’ve got the touch of the blues and a little bit of melancholy I think it serves both sides of that and it’s open to whoever is listening to it and I guess, whatever they’re really feeling or whatever they’re going through at that time in their life.”
“Burn Out” is off of Midland’s debut album, On The Rocks, and later this year they’ll release their sophomore album. Details will be forthcoming.
