Riley Green has been chosen as one of four new artists who will be spotlighted in 2019 for the first ever Opry NextStage program. As part of the program, Riley and his music will be supported and promoted by the Opry through live performances throughout the year, strategic marketing support and a short-form documentary to help people get to know Riley and the other artists better.
As someone who grew up learning to appreciate and revere traditional country music thanks to his Grandpa Buford, Riley says, “Just being involved with the Grand Ole Opry – you know, having my debut was a huge thing – but being involved, and them kind of taking hold of my career and saying that they’re that interested in what I’m doing, and believe in it enough to make me be a part of the NextStage, it’s unreal. Like, the Grand Ole Opry is such a kind of untouchable thing for me. And then to get to play there and then also be a part of this and have kind of their leverage behind me and helping my career out, It’s exciting to see what they can do when somebody like that gets ahold of you.”
2019 is off to a great start for Riley Green, not only being chosen as one of the inaugural participants of the Opry NextStage program, but also, his debut single, “There Was This Girl,” is on the verge of moving into the top ten on the charts.
