(AUDIO) BRANTLEY GILBERT HOPES TO PASS HIS INSTINCT TO PROTECT WOMEN ONTO HIS SON

If you know anything about Brantley Gilbert, then you know one thing he absolutely will not stand for is physical abuse of a woman, under any circumstances.  There have even been a few times during his concerts where he has stopped his show because he could see a guy putting his hands on a woman.  That type of respect for women and the instinct to stand up for them is something he hopes to pass on to his son, Barrett.  Brantley says, “Hopefully a lot of that will be by example. I hope so. You know with his mama and just spending time with him, I hope he sees that and just assumes that’s the way it should be.”

Brantley is not a fan of verbal abuse either, but he says, “When it gets physical, man, then it’s my business.”  He admits, “This is probably controversial, but I hope (Barrett’s) somebody who stands up and doesn’t let that happen.”

Brantley is currently working on finishing up a new album that he will release later this year, featuring his latest single, “What Happens in a Small Town.”

“Hopefully a lot of that will be by example. I hope so. You know with his mama and just spending time with him, I hope he sees that and just assumes that’s the way it should be. And this is probably controversial, but I hope he’s somebody who stands up and doesn’t let that happen. That started at an early age for me and really it’s not so much verbal. I don’t really like that, but when it gets physical, man, then it’s my business.”
