Riley Green has been playing live shows for many, many years, and one of the things he loves to do is wander into the crowd while he’s singing. But now that his popularity is growing and he’s playing bigger venues, he’s had to learn to navigate over-zealous fans when he walks into the audience. While he doesn’t plan to stop hopping off stage to get closer to his fans, Riley says,”(It’s) always interesting because you get in some of these places and the security is not quite what you think it would be, and that’s how I started out playing, so it’s not something that bothers me. But there’s definitely some moments when you go out into the crowd and maybe somebody gives you a hug or an embrace for a little bit too long and tells you their life story in your ear in the middle of a song so it’s always interesting but I think that probably keeps it fun too.”
Since Riley is a tall, good looking guy, some women have been known to get a little handsy when he’s walking through the crowd, but so far the “There Was This Girl” singer has been able to handle just about any situation and get back on stage safely without too much inappropriate behavior.

“I’ve toured for several years and I play a lot of shows and that’s one thing I’m going to continue to do. But the funny thing about where I am now in my career is I’m just kind of making that transition from small, hole in the wall bars and clubs into big venues. And that’s always interesting because you get in some of these places and the security is not quite what you think it would be, and that’s how I started out playing, so it’s not something that bothers me.
