Midland was just nominated for two ACM Awards, for Vocal Group of the Year and Video of the Year for their latest single, “Burn Out.” Band member Cameron Duddy co-directed the video, which was filmed in one intricate, continuous shot, with TK McKamy. Prior to joining Midland, Cameron directed videos for Bruno Mars, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and more, so now to be able to combine his passion for Midland’s music with his passion for directing, Cameron says, “It’s an incredible honor to be nominated for an ACM Award.”
It’s the first Video of the Year nomination Midland has received and Cameron says, “I’m very proud of the video that we made all together. It was definitely a family affair. Everybody threw in. My neighbor was in the video. We called a friend from L.A., Ceion to come out and be the lead female in the video. We got Billy Bob’s to throw in and let us shoot there. So when you get to pull off a video and just make it work is already incredibly gratifying, but then to get a nomination is just kind of beyond explanation. Super grateful.”
The ACM Awards will be handed out on April 7th, live from Las Vegas on CBS.
