Brantley Gilbert had never worked with Lindsay Ell before they recorded their new duet, “What Happens in a Small Town,” but he was very familiar with her as an artist and had been a fan for a while. He explains, “When my wife and I got back together – this was before we were married – when we got back together, her mom and her brother wanted to go to the Opry. And we went to the Opry and she was playing.”
While Brantley became a fan of Lindsay’s that night, his wife’s brother, Grayson, became a super fan. Brantley joked to his family when he found out that he was going to be working with Lindsay, “Throughout this process we’re going to have to keep a close eye on Grayson.”
“What Happens in a Small Town” is the first release off Brantley’s fourth studio album for The Valory Music Co., which he’ll release later this year.”
