Ask any parent with young kids, and they’ll probably tell you there is a song or a TV show theme or some type of music that their kids listen to that drives them crazy. Justin Moore, who has four young kids, admits some of their favorite music is just awkward for him to listen to because he says, “One thing that they’re into that I wish they weren’t, music-wise, is me.”
For instance, he and the family were hanging out in their pool one day, and Justin says, “We have one of those little Bluetooth speakers, you know, and Kate had put her phone on somethin’ country. And then Ella, she can obviously handle phones now and do all that stuff, and she went over and changed it to, I think it was my last Kinda Don’t Care album. And I’m telling Kate, ‘Why are you on my album?’ And she goes, ‘I didn’t do that Ella did.’”
So while it wasn’t an annoying kids’ song, or kids’ TV show theme, it was still awkward because Justin says, “We had to listen to the entire album yesterday in the pool and it’s just me. I’m like, ‘I would really rather listen to somebody else than me.’”
Luckily for Justin’s kids, dad’s new album, Late Nights and Longnecks, featuring his newest single, “The Ones That Didn’t Make It Back Home,” will be out in a few months on July 26th, so they’ll have plenty of new music to blast at the pool this summer, much to his chagrin.
