It seems a lot of artists in country music are collaborating with artists outside of country music these days – Florida Georgia Line with Bebe Rexha, Kelsea Ballerini and The Chainsmokers, Maren Morris and Zedd. While Carly Pearce isn’t necessarily looking to collaborate outside of the genre, if she had to choose someone to work with outside of country music, she says, “John Mayer comes to mind because I feel like there’s still so much country to him. And also, just his songwriting is very inspiring. So I would say him.”
We do know Carly will have at least one country collaboration on her sophomore album, which she’s working on to release later this year, featuring her latest single, “Closer to You.”
