Before Brett Young and his wife Taylor did the gender reveal for the baby that they’re expecting this fall, Brett joked that she would have him wrapped around her little finger if it was a girl. But really, Brett says, “I know people say this, then they are given a hard time for saying this because nobody really believes it, but it’s totally true for me and Taylor, we didn’t have a preference because we want to have more than one child, and at the end of it we’d like to have at least one of each. But we really didn’t care what this was. We just wanted a healthy baby. And so, because we had no expectations it made it more fun because you have really nothing on the line. You just get to be excited and surprised.”
Now that Brett knows his first child is going to be a baby girl, he cannot wait for all the comes with that. “A couple of days after the realization came to me that I’m gonna probably have to get used to a lot of pink in my house – not just having a girl but the first one being a girl. Not like there’s gonna be some pink and some blue in the house. We’re gonna have a pink house, and I can’t wait. I’ve wanted to be a dad for a long time and I can’t even imagine if I love my wife this much, how much more even it’s going to be when it’s my little girl.”
While Brett waits for the arrival of his baby girl, in between decorating for the nursery, he will be touring this summer on the fair and festival circuit, sharing his brand new song, “Catch,” along with his hits and other new songs off his latest album, Ticket to L.A.
