Eli Young band has been together for almost 20 years, which poses an interesting challenge when they’re trying to put together a set list for their concerts. According to bassist Jon Jones, “It’s an interesting place to be a of a band who’s been around for as long as we have. There’s always gonna be people in the crowd that only know a song or two, but there’s always going to be people in the crowd who have an expectation of hearing songs from when we first started and who’ve been following us for that long.”
So whether fans have been with Eli Young Band since their Jet Black and Jealous album or earlier, or if they just discovered them with their latest number one song, “Love Ain’t,” Jon says the band is definitely up for the challenge of keeping everybody happy at their shows. “It’s fun to try to make a set, whether it’s a short set or a long set, that’s going to make everybody happy and still make those fans that only know two songs want to go back and hear all the back catalogue.”
