(AUDIO) ELI YOUNG BAND HAS ONE SONG THEY’D BE HAPPY NOT TO SING FOR A VERY LONG TIME

Every singer has heard you should never record a song you’re not willing to sing for the rest of your career, but we wondered if there were any songs in Eli Young Band’s repertoire that they would be happy to never sing again, and it took Mike Eli no time at all to blurt out, “Say Goodnight.”  Mike says, “I love the video though. ‘Say Goodnight’ is an incredible song and I don’t regret recording it but we’ve played it live quite a bit and we just never really fell back in love with that song. And I love the video so much because it’s about a robot and nobody likes the video that I think I maybe I have a bad taste in my mouth.”

Fortunately, bassist Jon Jones says, “As far as songs that the people request, there’s not a song that people request that we’re like, ‘Oh God no,’ because people don’t request ‘Say Goodnight.’ So that makes it easy.”

One song Eli Young Band won’t get sick of singing anytime soon is their brand new single, which they’ll release this Friday.

Eli Young Band – song tired of singing :43

Mike Eli – “’Say Goodnight.’ I love the video though. ‘Say Goodnight’ is an incredible song and I don’t regret recording it but we’ve played it live quite a bit and we just never really fell back in love with that song. And I love the video so much because it’s about a robot and nobody likes the video that I think I maybe I have a bad taste in my mouth.

Jon Jones – “You were quick with that answer about the song.”

Mike – ‘Yeah, I was ready.”

Jon – “But as far as songs that the people request, there’s not a song that people request that we’re like, ‘Oh God no,’ because people don’t request ‘Say Goodnight.’ So that makes it easy.”

Mike – “We get the random requests for it here and there.”

Jon – “Yeah, like there hasn’t been a hit or a song that really people latched onto that we were like, ‘Oh no not this one.’ We’ve been very fortunate in that regard.”
