(AUDIO) FROM SWEET 16 PARTIES TO WEDDINGS, RILEY GREEN BUILT HIS FANBASE ONE PERSON AT A TIME

Long before Riley Green signed his record deal and had a song on the radio, he built a pretty impressive following on social media. Explaining how he did it, Riley says it was really just about a lot of hard work and gaining one follower at a time. “There is no real, just like simple answer. I mean the best thing I did was play every hole in the wall bar was in north Alabama and gradually go down to middle Alabama and Georgia and Mississippi and all that. So most of the people that follow me on Facebook or Instagram or Twitter have seen me play somewhere. I’ve kind of got that hometown guy kind of vibe from my fans and it’s because they’ve seen me play.”

Riley knew that getting in front of as many people as he could was the key to building a big following, so he says, “I played I don’t know how many graduation parties, 16-year-old birthday parties, weddings, you know what I mean, stuff like that.”

Riley, whose latest single is “In Love by Now,” says it was also easier to build a following on social media when he was first starting out and had more time to spend with people who came out to see him. “It’s different because they got to sit there and talk to me while I set my speakers up, you know.  All these people feel like they know me, so that was kind of how I got my base following built. It was a gradual thing.  It just wasn’t overnight.”

These days Riley still tries to do meet and greets and interact with his fans whenever possible, and you can catch him out on the Brad Paisley World Tour 2019. Check rileyreenmusic.com for his full tour schedule.
