The guys in Midland have been pursuing their musical dreams for a long time, but along the way they’ve had to have plenty of side jobs to pay the bills. Bass player Cam Duddy says he’s done a little bit of everything. “Delivering phone books, any restaurant job. I mean all aspects of it up front, in the back … construction, carpentry, all that stuff man.”
Lead singer Mark Wystrach also got a lot of restaurant and bar experience working at his family’s honkytonk in Arizona, “Washing dishes, taking out garbage,” he says. Plus he was a bouncer.
Guitarist Jess Carson spent a lot of time working far away from civilization because he says, “I spent my summers working in a Christmas tree field in the middle of nowhere. You can’t feel further away from the world than doing that, you know?”
Fortunately for Jess and Midland, they now spend most of their nights on stage in front of thousands of people, performing their own unique brand of country music, including songs off their brand new album, Let It Roll, including their latest single, “Mr. Lonely.”
