(AUDIO) FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE HAS LEARNED TO LISTEN TO FIND THE BEST SONGS

Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line are prolific songwriters, having written a bunch of hits for themselves, as well as other artists, including their brand new single, “Blessings,” which they wrote with Tom Douglas, Jesse Frasure, Jordan Schmidt, Ernest K.Smith.  When it comes to writing the best songs, Brian Kelley says he picked up some valuable advice, while attending college at Belmont University, from Don Schlitz, who has written dozens of hits, including “The Gambler,” “Forever and Ever Amen” and “When You Say Nothing at All.”  Brian recalls, “He said there’s a conversation in every song, all you have to do is listen.”

Realizing BK got it a little backwards, Tyler Hubbard jumps in, “Or there’s a song in every conversation, you just have to listen.”  And then he joked, “That’s why we’re a duo.”

So if you’re ever around BK and Tyler and they seem to have drifted off and their mind is somewhere else, it’s quite possible someone has said something that they are already working to turn into a song.
