Back in June, Justin Moore’s middle daughter, Kennedy (Ken for short), made a deal with her parents that if she worked hard and did better in math and spelling, and if she worked hard in softball and put in the work to play, they would let her get a kitten. She did, and they actually ended up getting two kittens for the family. Five pets and four kids seems like a lot, but Justin reveals, “There are more animals. Fortunately, I don’t own them, but we do have more on our property now. My little cousin has three horses now and three cows on my property, and one of the horses is the one that stepped on me. So three dogs, three horses, three cows, and two cats.”
Justin doesn’t even want to think about what he spends in food every month to feed all 11 animals, but he’s thankful to not be the only one taking care of all of them. He says, “I have to give Ken credit, though, because we told her, ‘Alright, these are your cats. You’re gonna have to go feed ‘em and water ‘em and all that, and she has. She really does a good job. So I’m proud of her for taking responsibility because I had my doubts.”
Perhaps Justin could write an extra verse to his new song, “Why We Drink,” that involves having 11 animals and four kids under the age of 10 to keep up with … “that’s why we drink.”

So there’s no telling what we spend in food, to be quite honest with you. But I have to give Ken credit, though, because we told her, ‘Alright, these are your cats.
