(AUDIO) THERE’S ONE INSTRUMENT MISSING ON JUSTIN MOORE’S ALBUMS THAT MIGHT SURPRISE MOST PEOPLE

Justin Moore is well known as one of the more traditional artists in Country Music, which would lead people to believe that he has a lot of fiddle and steel guitar on his albums, but if you listen closely to Justin’s latest album, Late Nights and Longnecks, or his latest single, “Why We Drink,” you might be surprised to realize there’s no fiddle.  Some people might even be shocked to hear Justin say, “I don’t really like fiddle. Well, let me rephrase that. I like fiddle, I just like it less than the steel guitar.”

Justin doesn’t have anything against the fiddle or people who choose to use it on their albums, but he explains, “I was more of like a Waylon-ish guy, where the steel guitar took over a lot of that stuff, cause I was a southern rock guy too, so that just sounded tougher to me than a fiddle. And so I don’t know, I just always loved the way the steel filled in those spaces.”

The irony is not lost on Justin that he’s not a fan of the fiddle because he says, “What’s funny I say that, because Dwight Yoakam is my favorite artist and he had a lot of fiddle.  So, I don’t know. I just love steel guitar.”

You can’t blame a guy for liking what he likes, and chances are if he hadn’t pointed out, most people wouldn’t have realized there was no fiddle on his album.
