Midland is nominated for both New Artist and Vocal Group of the Year at next Wednesday’s CMA Awards, and while they would be grateful to win either award, lead singer Mark Wystrach says, “It’s not really something that we focus on. It’s really wonderful to be nominated for awards and be recognized for the work that you’re doing, but we’re just really chasin’ the songs and we’re chasin’ the sound and we’re chasin’ the live performances.”
The group is proud to be recognized for all of their hard work, and Mark says, “We take a lot of pride in being able to do all of it – to write, to record, produce and to perform live as well – especially doing it live. That’s a huge deal for us, so to get recognized as a vocal group which is what we take huge pride in. It’s really cool.”
Midland is approaching the top 20 on the charts with their latest single, “Mr. Lonely,” off their critically acclaimed sophomore album, Let It Roll.

Mark Wystrach – “It’s not really something that we focus on. It’s really wonderful to be nominated for awards and be recognized for the work that you’re doing, but we’re just really chasin’ the songs and we’re chasin’ the sound and we’re chasin’ the live performances. So, we work incredibly hard at what we do and we have been since we’ve been a band, and years before that. And we take a lot of pride in being able to do all of it – to write, to record, produce and to perform live as well – especially doing it live.
