Lady Antebellum is one of the acts that will be part of the upcoming Dolly Parton: 50 Years at the Grand Ole Opry television special on NBC, and according to Charles Kelley, “It is pretty wild when we got asked to be part of the event to honor Dolly. We’ve been doing this now 13 years and we feel like we’re starting to get in those kind of worlds where it’s kind of cool to be one of those artists that’s asked to be part of really cool artistic events that honor like, great artists. It’s really humbling.”
Besides Lady Antebellum, the Dolly Parton television special will feature Dierks Bentley, Chris Janson, Emmylou Harris, Hank Williams, Jr. and more. For Lady A it was an honor to be included because Charles says, “Dolly is, she is one of the best songwriters of all time and such a chameleon and has been in so many different facets of the business that, from an entrepreneurial standpoint too, I mean she’s just the quintessential woman boss of our genre. She really is. She kind of set the bar high for everybody.”
Lady Antebellum just released their brand new album, Ocean, on Friday, featuring their current single, “What If I Never Get Over You.” You’ll be able to see them performing on Dolly Parton: 50 Years at the Grand Ole Opry next Tuesday, November 26th, at 9 ET/8 CT on NBC.
