Brett Young and his wife, Taylor, welcomed their baby girl, Presley Elizabeth, into the world on October 21st, and while they have received lots of gifts for their first child, so far she hasn’t started receiving baseball equipment, which would make sense, since Brett was a pitcher all throughout high school and college, and it’s the career he thought he would have before music. Brett would love for his daughter to develop an interest in baseball, but there’s plenty of time for that later. For now, he says, “We did just get a pink little leather high top golf shoe situation. My life is gonna be completely pink, even more than it already is, but no pink baseball mitt, yet. She has to tell me that she wants to play baseball or softball first. Buying the mitt first would be like, ‘You have to go play baseball or softball.’”
While Brett is going to give his daughter the ability to choose her own passions as she gets older, the thought has crossed his mind, “Maybe a pink microphone, maybe a little karaoke machine. I don’t know, nothing yet though.”
Since it will be at least a few years before three-month old Presley starts expressing interest in different activities and hobbies, Brett is just content to spend whatever time he can at home with his wife and daughter before he has to get back to touring and promoting his latest single, “Catch,” off of his Ticket to L.A. album.
