Brett Young’s career has started with five #1 songs in a row, and while he hopes his latest single, “Catch,” will be his sixth and that every song he releases thereafter will be a #1 hit, he doesn’t allow that to stress him out or become his priority. “I don’t feel pressure about making sure they all go number one,” says Brett. “I just feel pressure to make the right decision if it’s time to get off of one.”
Brett’s ultimate goal is to have a long, successful career, and he knows at some point, one of his songs is going to turn out not to be a #1 hit. But rather than trying to force it on people to keep his #1 streak alive, Brett says, “I’m always writing new music and so all I can do is my best to like put out the music that I think people will connect to,” says Brett. “If it ever seems like it’s not connecting I just feel pressure to be able to kind of get over myself a little bit and realize this isn’t everybody’s favorite song and move on to the next one, and just hope I make the right decisions in that.”
So far, Brett seems to be making all the right decisions when it comes to the music his fans love, because “Catch” is currently sitting in the top 15 on the charts and continuing to climb. And Brett is currently headlining his Chapters Tour through early May. Then in July, he will join Jason Aldean for his We Back Tour.
