With three young kids and a busy career, it’s important to Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum to find ways to spend quality time with each of her kids, and she shares one way she’s found to spend quality time with her oldest daughter, Eisele, who’s seven. “One of the things that Eisele and I love doing recently,” says Hillary, “is I’ll run her a big bath, and then we have these letters that with water will stick to the side of the tub, and so we’ve started making up words because she’s learning to read and learning how to spell. So we’ll just laugh so much just making up words, and just interacting with her that way.”
Hillary knows that her daughter and most kids rarely sit still long enough to have true, uninterrupted quality time, so she says, “Anytime I feel like you can get your child kind of trapped, like, whether it’s in a tub or something, and you have that ability to really just connect and laugh, like that is such quality time that we love.”
And it’s not just Hillary who loves the quality bath time with her daughter. She laughs and says Eisele, “has asked me to actually run her a bath almost every day.”
Lady Antebellum sings about having to be away from their kids and making those sacrifices for their career in their new single, “What I’m Leaving For.”
