Five months ago, Carly Pearce married her best friend and fellow artist, Michael Ray, and one of the things that drew Carly to Michael almost instantly is that she says, “I’m painfully introverted at my core and he brought out this side in me that made me almost feel alive.”
Carly also recognizes that her husband challenges her to want to be a better version of herself every day. “This may sound weird,” says Carly, “but he’s the only person that I’ve ever dated that I wanted to be better for and that I wanted to change things about myself in order to grow with somebody.”
In addition to bringing out the best in her, Carly says Michael has also helped to bring out the best in the world around her. “I’ve had a lot of sadness in my life,” admits Carly, “and I think that I didn’t even realize the way that certain things had affected me, and he just kind of like made me see in color again.”
Carly is currently climbing the charts with “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” her duet with Lee Brice, and on March 11th, Carly and Michael will perform their duet, “Finish Your Sentences,” which is also on her new self-titled sophomore album, on Good Morning America.
