Carly Pearce is married to fellow artist, Michael Ray, which means they’re both always busy, always traveling and touring, and often are far apart from each other. But Carly says they find ways to stay connected and bridge the gap when they’re on the road. “We do little things, where we have morning coffee together or we end our nights together.”
Besides sharing some of life’s daily rituals with one another via Facetime, Carly says she and Michael stay fully engaged throughout the day. “Everybody’s different,” says Carly, “but I think because we spend so much time apart, we are in constant communication. I know what he’s doing all the time and it’s not like a, (creepy) ‘What are you doing?’ It’s just, I like to know what he’s doing. I like to be engaged in what he’s doing – if he’s had an interesting conversation, had an interesting interaction with a fan, did something with radio, saw something cool in the city, and likewise. We like to include each other in our days.”
One of the few positives of the current coronavirus pandemic is that Carly and Michael are both off the road for now, and getting to spend some unexpected quality time together. However, with her song, “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” climbing toward the top of the chart, and all the tour dates she has lined up this spring and summer, we’re guessing Carly would love to be out on the road performing and promoting her song and sharing Facetime coffee with Michael.
