The members of Lady Antebellum have six kids in total, and while most of them have grown up on the road, and touring life is second nature to them, most of them are still too young to completely understand what it means that their mommy or daddy is a big country music star. Dave Haywood, whose son Cash is five and a half, and daughter Lillie is two, says, “It’s funny to try to explain what we do to our kids. They’ve come on the road and they’ve been at sound checks and watch shows and stuff. But even my son, he’s like, ‘Why can’t I come out there? I want to come out during the show.’”
Cash knows his daddy sings on a stage in front of people, but he doesn’t fully grasp the level at which Lady Antebellum operates. Dave says, “It might be a much later age where they kinda grasp what we’re really doing. But it’s fun to watch them fall in love with music through the band, and it’s really fun to take them along for the ride.”
One thing Cash probably knows is that he is one of the stars of the video for Lady Antebellum’s latest single, “What I’m Leaving For,” along with the rest of the band members’ kids. You can watch the video now on Lady A’s YouTube page.
