Brantley Gilbert’s son, Barrett, is only 2 ½ years old, but Brantley has already dreamt of what he’d like to do with him and teach him when he gets a little older. “I think huntin’, probably,” he says.” There’s a lot of places that I’ve been blessed enough to have friends that hunt some really cool spots, and it would just be awesome (to take him with me).
Brantley actually went on a hunt with Outdoor Channel star Lee Lakosky, when his wife Amber was pregnant with Barrett, and all he could think about was one day bringing him back to experience it. He says, “We went to the Hill Ranch in Colorado. It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen, and you’re up thousands of feet on these mountains. I wanna see that stuff with him. I wanna share that with him.”
For Brantley, that kind of experience is less about hunting and more about spending quality bonding time with his son. He says, “It’s more about that and spending time with each other and being out in the middle of nowhere together, than it is killing something. But,” he says, “I’m gonna raise him right and make sure he knows what huntin’s all about. We’re not out here just for sport.”
Before he had to come off the road, Brantley was also enjoying sharing his Fire’t Up Tour, which is named after his latest single, with his whole family. Until it’s safe for everyone to attend concerts again, Brantley is making the most of the time he’s getting to spend with his family at home.
