Carly Pearce and Michael Ray just got married last October, and it seems the minute any female country star ties the knot, the questions start about ‘when are you going to have kids?’. Carly says, “Michael and I definitely want children. I think that we are both, I guess, on the up in our careers and not at a place where either of us feel like we are comfortable enough to slow down. So, I think it’s in our future. I would say it’s in our five year plan.”
Considering they’re both still young, and, as Carly said, both right in the middle of building their careers – her latest single, “I Hope You’re Happy Now” with Lee Brice just moved into the top ten and is continuing to climb up the charts – she says, “We just want to be married right now, but we always say two kids. We kind of want two. I feel like everybody says that.”
Carly jokes that when they do ultimately have kids, “We’re gonna have to find a way to travel together, tour together, when that happens because I ain’t getting’ stuck with both. I ain’t gonna be stuck as a single mom.”
For now, Carly is still enjoying the honeymoon phase, but also going a little stir crazy waiting to get back out on the road to do what she loves the most, which is performing live for her fans.
