It’s safe to say that every artist cannot wait to get back on the road and back on stage once the coronavirus pandemic is over, or at least under control. Aside from that, Carly says the one thing she is looking forward to more than anything, once the pandemic is over, is “Knowing that my mom is gonna be alright, and being able to really be around her.”
Carly’s mom has stage four COPD and only 30% lung capacity as it is, so if she were to contract the coronavirus, it could be deadly, which is why Carly says, “This is a really, just terrifying time for my family.”
Carly’s mom is her best friend, so not being able to be close to her and hang out the way they usually do has been tough. Carly says, “Even though I’m going to see her, I’m staying at a different house. I’m not going to be really around her. So, I am literally one of those people that’s like, ‘Do this for my mom if you’re not doing it for anybody else. It’s killing her to not be able to be around me.”
Carly’s latest single, “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” is sitting inside the top ten on the charts, and she would love more than anything to be able to hug her mom and celebrate when it gets to #1, but for now she has to keep her distance, and she worries a lot about her mom. She says, “So, this coronavirus has taken a hit in my immediate family of just trying to make sure she’s all right.”
