(AUDIO) BRANTLEY GILBERT PREFERS SONGS OVER SOCIAL MEDIA TO SHARE HIS TRUTH

If you’ve listened to Brantley Gilbert’s latest album, Fire and Brimstone, then you know he’s got some deeply personal and revealing songs on there like “Bad Boy,” “Lost Soul’s Prayer,” “Man of Steel” and “Man That Hung the Moon.”  It can be very vulnerable to share some of the intimate details of his life in his songs, but he says, “I think at this point, I wear my heart on my sleeve in my music.  A lot of people choose social networking to do that. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that but for me. I’m little old school and I say what I have to say on my records.”

Also, from his first album to his latest one, Brantley has always described his albums as chapters of his life, and he says, “If I’m telling people these are chapters of my life and these songs are things that I’ve been through, I don’t have a choice.  If I don’t put those songs in there, I’m just not being honest. I’m not being real.”

Brantley has been working on new music, including writing personal songs about his life and experiences, and he’s hopeful to be able to get back on the road soon with his Fire’t Up Tour, if and when he gets the green light.
