While Justin Moore watches his latest song, “Why We Drink,” continue to make its way up the charts, he’s kind of been working on a new album … sort of. “I mean, working on a new album in the sense that I’m writing songs, yes,” says Justin, “I’m working on a new album. But I’m not in any hurry to put one out.”
One reason Justin isn’t in full-on songwriting mode, trying to come up with enough songs for his next album is because he says, “We wrote a lot of songs for the last album, and so I’m really excited about a lot of the songs that we wrote that didn’t make it on the last album, that will make it on this next one. But we still have a lot of writing to do to add to that nucleus that will make up the next album.”
Overall, with the songs Justin had left over after finishing Late Nights and Longnecks, he says, “I’m confident in what we have, and if we can match that or up the ante a little bit to add to that, I’m thrilled with it.”
It won’t be long before Justin will have to seriously start thinking about what’s next, because “Why We Drink is currently hovering just outside the top ten on the charts, and is continuing to march toward #1.
