Midland lead singer, Mark Wystrach, is madly in love with his baby girl, “Sunny,” who is eight months old now, but because she is so young, he’s not quite sure yet what kind of a parent he will be when it comes to discipline. Jess Carson of Midland admits he’s a bit of a pushover, partly because he feels guilty for being gone all the time when they’re able to tour, and Mark says, “I’ll probably be a pushover too, cause I’ll also feel guilty for being gone all time.”
Upon further thought, Mark says, “Actually, I think I’m going to be kind of strict. I really do think that I will be. When it came down to the rules, like, my dad would set the boundaries and then relax. Set the boundaries first, then be the fun dad.”
We’ll have to see just how tightly Mark’s little girl has him wrapped around her finger as she gets older. In the meantime, check out Midland’s new EP, Guitars, Couches, Etc., Etc., featuring acoustic versions of five of their songs. Plus, they recently released an album full of live versions of some of their songs called Live for the Palomino. Both projects are available wherever you stream or download music.
