Danielle Bradbery just celebrated her 24th birthday last week, and when she thinks about the shy young girl we met as a member of Team Blake on The Voice and the woman she is now, things have definitely changed quite a bit. “I was on The Voice at 16 years old,” says Danielle, “and that took over that whole 16th year, I feel like. And as soon as I got off and started everything, I turned 17.”
Not only was she trying to navigate being a teenage girl in the spotlight, but she was also trying to navigate the music business, which she knew nothing about, and she says, “(It was) just a whirlwind and those are years that so much changes as a teenager, and so going through that in the spotlight and traveling so much and having to grow up really, really fast, I was just living in the moment. And I’m like, ‘Tell me where to go. Tell me what to sing.’ You know I don’t really know exactly what’s going on right now but I am just taking everything in.”
Fortunately, Danielle has been surrounded by a lot of good people who have taught her a lot in the last eight years, and she says, “I’ve learned so much, my confidence level has gone up tremendously and I feel like I’m always gonna be learning from here on out. And it’s been an amazing ride. I’ve learned a lot.”
Perhaps as a birthday present to herself and as a gift to her fans who have been dying for new music, Danielle just released her brand new song, “Never Have I Ever.
