One thing that a lot of artists have had to adjust to during the pandemic is spending so much time at home with their families. It’s not something they get to do when they’re touring, but Eli Young Band’s bassist, Jon Jones says, “We have really enjoyed our time at home, but at the same time, we are those guys that as soon as the last show of the week’s done we are taking the first plane home and we are staying at home for as long as we can ‘til we get back on the road. So, we’ve made a really concerted effort in our careers to put family first.”
Undoubtedly, this is the longest stretch of time without leaving that Eli Young Band, all of whom are fathers, has been at home, so Jon knows, “When we do get back on the road full time again, the kids are gonna miss us and it’s gonna be tough.”
For guitarist James Young, the extended time at home has been a blessing … for the most part. “I’ve got a baby at home and it’s nice to be home. Usually after the baby came, I would always be headin’ back out on the road,” says James. While trying not to laugh he says, “So, it’s nice to be home and be a part of all the late-night diaper changes and the feedings and stuff that I used to get out of every once in a while.”
Besides promoting their latest single, “Saltwater Gospel (Fins Up version) with Jimmy Buffett, on social media, Eli Young Band has also been sharing photos of family life and their kids on their socials.
