CURRENT SINGLE: “I Called Mama”
Tim McGraw is sitting in the top five with his latest single, “I Called Mama,” and it turns out it’s a song Tim knew he had to record because it got the stamp approval from one of the most important mamas in his life, his wife Faith Hill. “When everybody was going back and forth, even my daughters, about songs,” says Tim, “Faith really, she was like a hand that weighed in big time on this song and said, ‘You know, that song will mean a lot to people.’”
Faith’s opinion holds a lot of weight with Tim, not only because she’s an extremely talented singer herself, but in this case, particularly, because she is a mama that time holds in the highest regard. Tim says, “Having three daughters and having her as their role model, I feel, as a dad, so fortunate that they can look to her as a guidepost for their life as women. She’s just a special lady and so, when she puts her hand on something, it’s almost like it’s hard to not listen to her for sure.”
Based on the success of “I Called Mama” and how much it has resonated with people, especially during this time in our lives, it turns out Faith, not surprisingly, was right about the song.
