Brett Young is a big baseball fan, but he’s not a big fan of the cardboard fans the teams have been setting up in the stands in lieu of being able to have live fans attend the games due to Covid-19. While some cardboard celebrities have been spotted cheering on their favorite teams at some of the games, Brett, who is a huge Dodgers fan says, “I hate to say this publicly, but I hate that. I understand why. I know it’s even like a source of revenue for the team but it creeps me out.”
Brett is also a huge fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, who just won the NBA Championship last night, and he says, “The NBA creeps me out too, because they do it on screen and they’re like four times the size of a person. None of it feels right to me.”
Brett knows he could get his carboard likeness in the stands at a game because he says, “Everybody has an opportunity. It just costs a couple bucks and you pay for it, but I don’t like it. I’d rather see an empty stadium than cardboard cutouts. That being said, that’s just me.”
While cardboard Brett won’t be attending any games during the pandemic, real life Brett will be watching all the games on TV and cheering for his Dodgers, who are set to take on the Atlanta Braves in the National League Championship Series, which kicks off tonight.
