(AUDIO) RILEY GREEN IS GRATEFUL FOR THE BRAVERY OF THOSE WHO CHOOSE TO SERVE OUR COUNTRY

CURRENT SINGLE: “If It Wasn’t for Trucks”

In Riley Green’s song “Different ‘Round Here,” which is the title track from his last album, the first line of the chorus says, “Brave is 18 wearing Army green.”  It was inspired by a lot of his buddies he watched head off to serve our country right out of high school and he says, “That line … is a pretty easy line to write.  It rhymes and it sings cool, but the biggest part about it is it means something.  And it means something to a lot of people, I’m sure, to think about taking off after barely being able to drive and going and risking your life.  It’s a pretty amazing thing to think about.”

Riley acknowledges that he couldn’t imagine making that decision, but he is thankful for his buddies and for every man and woman who does make that decision and that sacrifice for our country, and he will definitely be thinking about them this Veterans Day.

Yeah that line, ‘Brave is 18 wearing Army green is a pretty easy line to write.  It rhymes and it sings cool, but the biggest part about it is it means something.  And it means something to a lot of people, I’m sure, to think about taking off after barely being able to drive and going and risking your life.  It’s a pretty amazing thing to think about.
