NEW SINGLE: “What’s Your Country Song”
Thomas Rhett will release his brand new song, “What’s Your Country Song,” this Wednesday, November 11th. It’s a cleverly written song featuring old country song titles and lyrics, celebrating the country in all of us. While Thomas was on a writing streak during the pandemic, he explains that this song was one he wrote in a hotel room in Dallas, Texas, with Ashley Gorley, his dad Rhett Akins, Parker Welling and Jesse Frasure, before the country got locked down.
Thomas says, “We were just talking about ideas for songs and I just mentioned an idea of what’s your country or where’s your country or something like that. And they were just asking me where that inspiration came from, and I just noticed that whether I was in Los Angeles or New York or Seattle or Nashville or anywhere in between, I just kinda noticed that everybody had some country in ‘em, you know. Whether you lived in the city or wherever you lived, I think everybody has a little bit of country inside their bones.”
Working with that idea, Thomas says, “We decided to dive in and make the whole song old country song lyrics that tied into a story.”
“What’s Your Country Song” will be on Thomas’ next project, which he’ll be releasing in 2021.

“So, I wrote this song in a hotel room in Dallas, Texas. Some songwriter buddies of mine, Ashley Gorley, my dad Rhett Akins, Parker Welling and Jesse Frasure all came with me to write that weekend, and we were just talking about ideas for songs and I just mentioned an idea of what’s your country or where’s your country or something like that. And they were just asking me where that inspiration came from, and I just noticed that whether I was in Los Angeles or New York or Seattle or Nashville or anywhere in between, I just kinda noticed that everybody had some country in ‘em, you know. Whether you lived in the city or wherever you lived, I think everybody has a little bit of country inside their bones. And so, we were just talking about how can we write this song, and so we decided to dive in and make the whole song old country song lyrics that tied into a story.”
