CURRENT SINGLE: “Next Girl”
Carly Pearce heads into this Wednesday night’s CMA Awards with a chance to win four trophies, including New Artist of the Year, plus Video, Collaboration and Song of the Year for “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” which she sings with Lee Brice. Of course, awards shows this year look a lot different, with artists accepting their awards to mostly empty venues, it won’t affect Carly’s joy and excitement if she wins. “Here’s how I feel about it,” she says. “Sure, would I love the huge experience of an arena full of people? Yes. Am I still getting to wear the dress and go and sit in the audience and hope and pray that my name gets called?” she continues, “Yes, which is amazing. And would it make it any less amazing to win? Absolutely not, because to me the award still stands and I’m sure the feeling would be the same.”
Look for Carly and Lee to perform “I Hope You’re Happy Now” on the 54th Annual CMA Awards, which will be hosted by Reba McEntire and Darius Rucker, live from Nashville, this Wednesday night, November 11th, at 8pm ET/7pm CT on ABC.
