NEW SINGLE: “What’s Your Country Song”
Earlier this year, contemporary Christian singer Chris Tomlin released a new album featuring collaborations with a bunch of different country stars, including Brett Young, Lady A, Florida Georgia Line and Thomas Rhett. Thomas actually co-wrote and sings on two of the songs on the album, including one called “Thank You Lord,” which seems rather fitting as we look ahead to Thanksgiving next week.
It turns out Thomas actually co-wrote the song with FGL’s Tyler Hubbard and their friend Corey Crowder, a couple of years ago, and Thomas says, “As we worked on this Chris Tomlin project, Chris was like, ‘Do you have any songs that you think I’d like,’ and I sent him ‘Thank You Lord” and he loved it.”
It made sense for Thomas and FGL to join Chris on the song since they co-wrote it. And as Thomas thinks about what he will be thanking the Lord for this Thanksgiving, he says, “If I had to re-phrase ‘Thank You Lord,’ it would definitely be ‘Thank you Lord for my family. Thank you Lord for my kids and this life that you’ve blessed us with because it’s been such a crazy ride and I think without my family, I really don’t know where I would be.”
Thomas is also probably thankful for the fantastic new song he just released called “What’s Your Country Song,” and the fact that everybody is already predicting this is going to be another big hit for Thomas.
Thomas Rhett – Thanksgiving Tomlin :27
“That song came out of the blue, to be honest with you. Because I wrote that song with Tyler Hubbard and Cory Crowder a couple years ago. And as we worked on this Chris Tomlin project, Chris was like, ‘Do you have any songs that you think I’d like,’ and I sent him ‘Thank You Lord” and he loved it. And so it was only fitting for me to get on there and FGL to get on there and Chris, obviously, cause it was his record. But if I had to re-phrase ‘Thank You Lord,’ it would definitely be ‘Thank you Lord for my family. Thank you Lord for my kids and this life that you’ve blessed us with because it’s been such a crazy ride and I think without my family, I really don’t know where I would be.”
